Beware of phone scams

| September 6, 2018 1:00 AM

Boundary County Public Information Officer Mike Meier has advised that Boundary County has been hit with another scam as reported by some of our residents. He said there is some evidence these calls are directed to the elderly.

“It appears that families are receiving phone calls regarding support for our local firefighters,” said Meier. “The caller is asking for money.”

Meier informs that there is not any group that is legally asking for funds regarding our local firefighters.

“Please do not listen to these people and report the phone number of the caller and a brief description of the call to the Boundary County Sheriff’s Office at 208-267-3151,” said Meier.
