Golf community invests time, energy in Mirror Lake

Some great things happened at the golf course last Saturday. In addition to adding gravel to the cart path between 5 green and 6 tee, tree branch clearing on No. 8, bunker restoration also began on hole 8. All of the old sand was taken out of the bunker and added to the right bunker on No. 7. The old fabric liner was also taken out. The bunker was then dug out and reshaped and lined with sod that was taken from the left of No. 4 fairway. A gravel cart path will be added where the sod was removed allowing for carts to be used earlier in the spring.

In a few weeks, once the roots take hold, the sod in the bunker will be sprayed to kill it. The sod will act as a liner for the sand that will go over it. Also, the area around the bunker will be seeded in the coming weeks. In the meantime, the area is roped off and is Ground Under Repair and a drop area is adjacent to it.

Being a limited budget facility, it is fantastic to have so many people donate their time, talent, energy, and resources. Days like this show how valuable the golf course is to the people in the area.
