Michael Edward Funkhouser

Michael Edward Funkhouser, 61, passed away on Friday morning, Aug. 24, 2018, at the Sylvan Lake Camp-ground in Libby, Mont. The family is hosting a Celebration of Life for Mike at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at the Twin Rivers Resort. Please come and bring a toast (“First Aid Kit”) for our beloved brother, father, and friend Mikey.

Mike was born on July 18, 1957 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, to Edward Allen Funkhouser and Dorothy Ann Funkhouser (Levig).

Mike loved the great outdoors. He loved to fish the Kootenai River and Lake Koocanusa and hunt in the mountains of Boundary County. Mike also loved being with his family and friends. He worked as a logger all of his life.

Mike is survived by his Mom, Dorothy Mincher (T-Ray); His love and partner, Robyn Fodge; Son, Raymond Funkhouser; Daughter, Aubrey Funkhouser (Chad Farrens); Sister, Linda Rustigan (Wayne); Brother Larry Funkhouser (Donna); Sister, Deb Miller (David); Brother, Dan Funkhouser (Karen); Grandson, Brayden Funkhouser and Granddaughter, Ryley Farrens; Numerous nieces and Nephews including Amy Desmarias (Jacque); Eddie Funkhouser (Gabriella); and Allen Funkhouser.

Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Meredith Funkhouser (Obermayer) and father, Edward Allen Funkhouser.

We all lost a bit of light and laughter on Friday. To each and every one you who knew Mikey, he loved you all. The family appreciate and love you also.

Mikey “Punkinhead,” we thank you for touching all of our lives. We will miss you so very much.
