Four local youths amazingly escaped with minor injuries last Tuesday night when the car in which they were riding plunged off the road about half-way down Grandview Cemetery Hill and rolled over 15 times before coming to rest on its top in a pasture at the bottom of the steep hill.

Harvesting work in the county is about 60 percent complete and yields are somewhat lower than expected earlier in the season, due to damage caused by rain and resulting sprouting of crops, according to information secured Wednesday from Vic Rae Sr. owner of General Feed and Grain Company.

The opening day student count at Boundary County’s School District 101 schools was reported Wednesday by Superintendent of Schools Richard Haworth, with the total first-day attendance of 1462, representing an increase of 22 over the number of students present for the start of classes last year.

Powered by an offensive line that tore through Flathead Valley Christian seemingly at will, the BF boys’ soccer team launched its 2003 campaign with an impressive 3-0 win in a non-league game Aug. 29. The Badgers racked up terrific performances from both Reuben McCrum and Jon Pluid, who exploded for three goals apiece.
