BFHS boys soccer remains unbeaten
BONNERS FERRY — On Sept. 7, the Badger boys soccer team hosted Grangeville, winning the game 5-1.
“We played well against Grangeville,” said coach Wayne Wilkerson. “They played hard but couldn’t match our speed and experience.”
Bonners Ferry played its first Intermountain League match on Tuesday, Sept. 11, earning a hard-fought, 1-0 win at Timberlake.
Preston McLeish scored the game-winner for Bonners Ferry, who placed 16 shots on the Tigers’ goal, only to see Timberlake keeper Sheldon Kistler make 15 saves.
“I thought our defense was great tonight, because their speed was hard to keep up with,” Tigers coach Steve Michael said, referring to the quickness of the Badgers (5-0-1 overall, 1-0 IML).
Bonners Ferry returns to action today, Sept. 13, at Immaculate Conception Academy, which tied the host Badgers 2-2 in a Sept. 4 matchup.
The boys’ next home game is 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, vs. Timberlake.
