Boundary County Fuller Center for Housing seeks next partner family

We are accepting applications for our next Partner Family!

Boundary County Fuller Center for Housing is excited to announce that we are beginning our process to find our next partner family! We are currently accepting applications through November 2, 2018 with the intent to select our next partner family by January 25, 2019. We will begin building our next home sometime in the Spring of 2019 with a goal to have our next Partner Family in their new home in early 2020. We are excited to begin this project as we continue to build a better a community, one house and one family at a time!

Background:

Boundary County Fuller Center for Housing (BCFCH), formally Boundary County Habitat for Humanity, has been in existence since 1993. We are a Christian based, non-profit organization dedicated toward eliminating sub-standard housing in our community. We partner with families, faith groups, local businesses, community entities, individuals, and other non-profit organizations to provide decent, affordable housing for Boundary County families. Over 99 percent of all of our donated goods, services, and money goes directly towards the houses we build, and our mantra is to keep our overhead costs to the bare minimum. Since our inception, we have built 10 houses for families in need in our community. The average home is around 1,300sf with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, and it costs us roughly $80,000 to build our homes. We are able to provide an interest-free, tailored mortgage to our Partner Families through our own revolving fund, thus allowing our families to afford home ownership. Partner Families are required to invest up to 500 hours of “sweat equity” in their own homes and are required to have a legitimate housing need, have a job OR steady source of income, and be able to support a tailored mortgage but NOT be able to qualify for a conventional loan. We are also a 501(c)3 organization with our own EIN that allows individuals and organizations to make tax deductible charitable contributions to our organization directly.
