COEUR d’ALENE — Bonners Ferry High School swimmers Julia Cummings and Seamus Newcomb competed in the Sept. 22 swim meet at the Kroc Center.

Julia Cummings placed first out of 15 finishers in the girls 100-yard freestyle with a time of 57.64, and second out of 15 finishers in the girls 100-yard backstroke (1:06.33).

“Julia had an amazing meet,” said coach Greg Jackson. “She beat out all 4A and below competitors in both her events.”

Seamus Newcomb placed eighth out of 11 finishers in the boys 100-yard breaststroke with a personal best time of 1:18.09.

“Seamus Newcomb had another best time in the 100 breaststroke,” said Jackson.

Jackson said the two Badger swimmers, who practice and travel with the Sandpoint High School team, showed their hard work from the season, with the swims they had.

The next swim meet is 4:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at 4:30 p.m. at the Kroc Center in CDA.
