BONNERS FERRY — While the football players play hard out on the field, there are many other students working together to create the atmosphere so loved at hometown games. They are working just as hard to represent Bonners Ferry High School and the bring the Badger pride.

At last Friday’s game, a throng of cheerleaders delighted the crowds. The high school and middle school cheerleaders joined forces to teach more than 40 young 2018 Future Badger Cheer Camp members. They practiced hard and not only performed during halftime, but during the first half of the game as well. They showcased what they had learned, including cheers, a dance, stunting and tumbling.

The heartbeat of school pride is defined by the Badger Bands. There music alone drives and inspires the crowd of spectators, as well as encouraging the players. School pride was evident as some band members sported face paint or pom poms. They teamed up this game with the Badgerettes dance team, providing the music for their routine.

“They adapted part of a new dance to the fight song and performed the original 1980’s dance moves to the school song, ‘Hey Look Me Over’,” said Badgerettes dance coach Lisa Dirks. “Dear to my heart, because it’s the dance we performed 1988 to 1991.”

The hard work put in behind the scenes really showed as the students of all ages performed for the audience.

“The Badgerettes look forward to performing this again with the cheer squad, during basketball season,” said Dirks. “It’s so special when all three of us join together supporting our school and showing our united spirit.”
