Kenneth (Ken) Bennett

10/30/40 — 9/17/18

Ken grew up in the city of St. Paul, Minnesota, and spent the first 15 years of his working life in electronics manufacturing.

Along the way, he met and married the love of his life, Shirley. Although living and working in the “burbs,” their hearts and free time were spent at their “get away” in Northern Minnesota.

After 15 years, Ken and Shirley broke ties with city life and moved to Gunnison, Colorado, where they owned and operated a motel for the next 20 years.

Retirement brought years of travels, hunting and enjoying his home, especially his yard.

2017 brought a move to Bonners Ferry, Idaho, to be close to family. Ken became a resident of the Extended Care Facility for the last two months of his life.

Ken is remembered for his sense of humor, his love for his family and friends, and for his faith. He knew Jesus Christ as his savior, and was Baptized at the age of 65.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents, and two siblings. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley, sister Sharon Johnson of Sandstone, Minn., sister-in-law Joyce Swenson and her husband John of Bonners Ferry, sister-in-law Loretta Dow of Phoenix, Ariz., and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Come celebrate his life at Trinity Lutheran at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27

Memorials welcome to the Alzheimer’s Association in your area.
