Coldwell Banker welcomes new agent
BONNERS FERRY — Northwoods Realty Coldwell Banker recently hired a new agent, Tim Cady.
Cady is a jack of many trades as he has been a school teacher at Evergreen Elementary until it was closed, a teacher at the Boundary County Middle School, a landscaper, a photographer, and now he is starting a new leg in his careers.
“I wanted to get into real estate a long time ago and then I found teaching to be more of a passion, so I took that route,” said Cady. “It took me 27 years to figure out I was never going to master that, so I jumped on the landscaping business.”
Cady started real estate classes in February and just recently received his licensing and began working for his friend and colleague, Broker/Owner of Northwoods Realty Coldwell Banker, CJ Tuma.
Cady wrote a letter to the community:
Dear Everyone I like,
You are seeing this because I just wanted to hide in the woods. But then I became a real estate agent. “Wait, I thought he was a teacher.” “I thought he was a photographer.” “I thought he had a landscape business.” I know, I know, get off me, no moss growing under these feet. One lifetime, do it all! Anyway, 66% of that is still true. I don’t mentally scar and horrify children anymore, at least not on purpose.
Now that I’m a real estate agent with Northwoods Realty-Coldwell Banker, I “need” a Facebook and Instagram presence. “Ugh.” A few years ago, my daughters “hooked me up” with Fb and Ig. (This dude seriously needs social media savvy). I lurked in the shadows from time to time, not knowing which buttons to push and which to avoid. I mostly stayed away. Everyone was telling me, “Don’t hit that button, or you will end up on everybody’s page.” Or, “Don’t hit that one unless you intend to carry on a relationship.” What?? And, “Hit that one if they are someone who knows you, and not that one if you don’t know them.” Ahhhhh! So, I didn’t touch any of them for fear of igniting a nuclear launch.
Apparently, in my newest career, I need to build my “sphere of influence,” using social media and articles like this one. Currently my sphere is the size of an atom, but I’m going to grow it to the size of the moon! Lofty? Ya, but who really achieves their goals, honestly? Lose that 10 pounds from the holidays, did ya? See? So, I figured I might as well shoot for the moon. Hehe.
My kids are, once again, going to try and teach me social media. It ought to be similar to teaching trigonometry to an infant. At any rate, here I am building my sphere, making myself known in yet another capacity. Wish me luck!
