Martin Christian Riebe left this world on April 4, 2019. If I were to try and tell the world a little about him, I would find myself thinking of so many happy times me and the children enjoyed with him!

He was absolutely “made for Bonners Ferry, Idaho”!! Although he spent his six-year Marine Corps days in San Diego, Calif., he ultimately found peace, joy and comfort here in Bonners Ferry.

He was your average guy who went to work everyday, came home every night, took turns letting each little kid sit on his lap, while watching a movie, and ended his day by reading The Word. He always loved his neighbors and never cut his love short when it came to me and my needs or even wants

Martin left seven kids behind for me to enjoy and raise (five girls, two boys). Most of his immediate family lives in Kalispell, Mont. I want him to be remembered as “the mountain sweetheart” that he’s so appropriately been called!

Martin’s memorial will be held at Mountain Springs Church (Bonners Ferry, Idaho) on April 27 at 1 p.m. If possible, I’m asking that there could be a dessert potluck afterwards. Please bring any type of dessert you choose. You can reach me at Shannonriebe@gmail.com.
