Online handgun safety training course update

According to Boundary County Public Information Officer Mike Meier, the Idaho Sheriffs’ Association offers an online handgun safety training course that satisfies the firearms familiarity requirements for a basic Idaho Concealed Weapons License. The site can be accessed at www.idahocwl.org. The recent change allowing 18 year old persons to carry concealed throughout Idaho and will be updated on July 1, when that law becomes effective.

The course is free to take, however the certificate of completion costs $25. This is an option for individuals wanting to obtain their concealed weapon permit; there are also several excellent firearms instructors locally that offer training to meet the requirements.
