Charles L. ‘Chuck’ Lockman

Charles L. “Chuck” Lockman, 81, passed away July 19, 2019, at the Schneidmiller House Hospice in Coeur d’Alene. Idaho. Chuck was born in the “Rock Pile” area of Moyie Springs on Oct. 25, 1937, to Lester Lockman and Helma (Berg) Lockman, being the fifth son of 10 boys along with two girls. He married Sheron Bennett on June 24, 1967, and became step-father to her children Royce and Nannette Satterlund.

From the age of 12, Chuck split cedar posts during the summer. Following his schooling, Chuck enlisted in the military, serving in both the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and in the United States Air Force during the Viet Nam era. Following his military discharge, he and his family resided in the Libby, Mont., area for 20 years, working in the timber and lumber industry before returning to North Idaho to be nearer to family.

He had a great love for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, being a very loving and patient grandfather as well as a loving husband. Chuck’s greatest enjoyments were hunting, fishing, and picking huckleberries. Preceding him in death were six brothers and a sister as well as his grandson Curtis Jerome Cody.

Surviving are his wife of over 50 years Sheron; his step-children Royce and Nannette Satterlund; brothers Jamie, Mick and Danny and sister Cheryl Myers. Also surviving are grandchildren Jerod, Destiny Nannette, Tori, and Colton; and great-grandchildren Makila, Marlee, Samantha, and Westin. We were all blessed to have him as a family member and a good friend.

A brief service will be 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at Grandview Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared online by visiting www.bonnersferryfuneralhome.com.
