First responders help Battle Grounds Coffee celebrate anniversary
BONNERS FERRY — On July 26, Battle Grounds Coffee Company celebrated its one year anniversary with first responders.
The stand was surrounded with EMTs, firefighters, police officers, and other members of the first responder teams. There was a barbecue, drinks, and visitors were encouraged to bring stuffed animals and/or blankets to donate.
“What they do is great and they have great coffee,” said North Bench Fire Chief Gus Jackson. “We love to come out and support veteran-owned business.”
Ryan Jenkins is Sarah Jenkins’ husband, and together they greeted those that visited the event.
“We do it to thank our first responders, police force, paramedics ... we like supporting the community,” said Ryan Jenkins.
Ryan Jenkins has served for eight years in the U.S. Army. Their coffee from Black Rifle Coffee Company is highly supportive of those in the armed forces and first responders.
“Thanks to Battle Ground for putting this on. Thanks to the community for your support,” said Bonners Ferry Police Officer, Jason Trujillo.
The business serves a wide variety of espresso coffee options including white coffee, teas, Italian sodas, frappes, and drip coffee, to name a few. They also offer a variety of food options from Yoder’s Market, from breakfast burritos to popular frozen stuffed pastries under the ‘Chow Hall’ portion of the menu.
“We are humbled by the support from the community and all law enforcement and first responders,” said Sarah Jenkins. “We hope to make it a yearly event to give back to them; my goal was to have use our anniversary to let the public show their appreciation to our law enforcement officers and first responders, and I saw it happen. It was a success.”
