Two views of the county fair
I have been coming to our local fair since I was very small. Probably, since I was born. I have enjoyed it so much over the years that this year I decided to sign up to be fair royalty. This way I can participate and help out with a lot of the fair activities. The fair is made up of many volunteers and I enjoy volunteering, so I wanted to be one to help those people out. The more community support our fair has the bigger and better it is. As early as I can remember I have participated in the pet show, blueberry pie eating contest, zucchini race, airplane contest and family fun night. I have entered drawings, vegetables, photos and animals in open class. Through 4-H I have entered sewing, pottery, vet science, drawings, entomology (bugs), geese, chickens, goats and rabbits. The fair is a great way for the community, FFA and 4-H to share their animals, produce and various projects. This year I will also be entering some projects through open class and some through 4-H.
I encourage you to participate in our local fair, because it has a lot to offer our community. I for one enjoy seeing all the cool exhibits that community members have worked hard on and have displayed for us to see. I really like seeing the animal barns full and it’s even more fun when people enter animals I don’t get to see. I would love to see the art, crafts, produce, baking and canning exhibits grow. This can only happen if you as a community members enter these items in the fair for others to see. Fair books are at various businesses around town or the fair office. This book will tell you about all the activities for each day. It will tell you categories so you can enter your items in the fair. It’ll tell you when you can enter your items in the fair. Find yourself a fair book and come join us at the fair Aug. 14 through 17.

Hi, my name is Ivy Murray and I have been in 4-H for four years, and have been a volunteer in the community for as long as I can remember. I have been going to fair since I was a baby, but my first fair memory was watching the girls being crowned for fair royalty. Ever since then I have always wanted to be a part of fair royalty and now I am. Fair is a magical place where everyone in the community can get together, have fun, and make memories. Fair gives the kids a chance to be a part of a group, and make new friends. Fair also gives kids with animals a chance to become responsible enough to properly take care of an animal. Even if you don’t have an animal there are so many other things for people to do. From jewelry making, fishing, drawing, and so much more. Even if you aren’t apart of 4-H, or FFA, everyone Is always welcome to enter a different variety of things in open class. No matter what you’re there for it’s always a ton of fun and there and always something new to do. I hope that you’ll come down and support all of us that work insanely hard to make fair possible.
