Wayne Brown

Wayne Brown passed away on Aug. 2, 2019. He was born in Fairfield, Wash., while his family lived on a farm in St. Maries, Idaho. His family moved here to the Bonners Ferry area in 1963 from Bismarck, N.D.

Wayne was a soft-spoken man; he was quiet, generous, of a gentle spirit and an honorable man. Wayne graduated from Bonners Ferry High School in 1975, where he lettered in basketball. In 1975 Wayne went to work for Boundary County Road & Bridge Department until he retired in 2011. He loved to go fishing, travel and hunting. He got a buck in his hunting years, which he received an award for, in the Kootenai County Big Horn Show.

Wayne has traveled from the East Coast to the West Coast and from Alaska to the Mexican border. Wayne married his wife Linda in 1985. He is survived by two sisters, Elaine Trom (Larry) from Spokane and Sharon Harris (Roger) from Sandpoint. He has four nieces and nephews, Rick, Sherrie, Brenda and Tom, and seven grand nieces and nephews, Steven, Audrey, Kyle, Ryan, Brendon, Marcus, and Samantha. Wayne was preceded in death by his wife in 2017 and both his parents, Richard and Eleanor Brown.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at the Grandview Cemetery. A luncheon will follow Bridgeway Assembly of God Church.
