CNA summer graduation
Boundary Community Hospital (BCH) and North Idaho College announced the graduation of the summer semester Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) class.
Over the past eight weeks, our newest graduates have learned the ins and outs of what it means to be a CNA in Bonners Ferry. Class studies, skills practice and clinical experience has given them the foundation to perform this vital role in our healthcare community.
One of our graduates took this class for very personal reasons. She was a patient at the hospital with severe injuries and almost died. She was inspired to become someone who helps others by the great care she received from the people who treated her at Boundary Community Hospital.
When asked what their favorite part of the CNA class was, they all replied, “Tracey — she is a great teacher.” They also loved working with the residents at the award-winning BCH Extended Care Facility. This program allows you to show your heart, and the class gives you empathy while allowing you to learn about what a nurse does. In fact, this is the start of a career in healthcare for three of the graduates who plan to continue their education aspiring to obtain their nursing degrees. Boundary Community Hospital and North Idaho College are very proud and excited for these CNAs to take on their roles throughout the community.
Boundary Community Hospital, in conjunction with North Idaho College, offers CNA certification courses quarterly in Bonners Ferry. Next semester will be October through December 2019. For information about the CNA program, contact Tracey Maas, RN at tracey.m@bcch.org or call 208-267-3141, Ext. 4312.
