BONNERS FERRY — The Badger volleyball team has launched the 2019 season with rigorous practices and getting into shape.

“I am very excited to start games, and I feel this season is going to go great,” said Coach Kendra Maas.

Maas strives to give every individual teammate their chance to shine and encourages equality and teamwork in order to assist each member of the team to be their best.

She has a new assistant coach, Samantha Swift, who will be an added asset to the team as she assists each player to hone their skills.

Speaking about what prompted her to coach volleyball, Maas said, “I love the game of volleyball and love to see each player develop skills throughout the season.”

Maas played volleyball from the seventh grade through her senior year, going on to play the sport in college for four years. From there, she coached at a club from 2000-2014. In 2009, Maas began coaching at Bonners Ferry High School, and also coached college volleyball from 2004-2009, making each season a bit busy for her.

“My plans for the team is State,” said Maas.
