Diaper drive: No baby 'wet' behind

| August 29, 2019 1:00 AM

Did you know it can cost about $100 per month to diaper one baby? To help offset this cost for families in need, Kaniksu Health Services is creating a diaper bank in its Bonners Ferry clinic.

Research shows that one in three babies does not have enough clean diapers. A lack of diapers has been linked to negative impacts on a child’s health. Being left in a wet diaper is not only uncomfortable for a baby, but a real health risk.

Families in need are welcome to stop by the diaper bank to pick up FREE diapers and wipes for their child. The Diaper Bank is open during regular clinic hours, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, at 6615 Comanche St., Bonners Ferry.

If you would like to contribute to the diaper bank, please drop off any unused diapers and wipes to the clinic during business hours. Kaniksu Health Services would like to thank Super 1 Foods, Safeway, and many local residents, for their generous donations to help get the diaper bank up and running.
