Lady Badgers use press to down Miners
BONNERS FERRY — The Lady Badgers used a press to jump out to a 19-9 first quarter lead. But then the Badgers, who were already missing players because of vacation, now had foul trouble in the second quarter.
“We started well but had to adjust due to fouls. Two of our three posts sat the entire second quarter with three fouls each,” coach Travis Hinthorn said. “Wallace came out on fire to start the second half. Luckily we stayed out of foul trouble in the second half and could press again.”
Wallace cut the lead to six points late in the third but the Badgers’ pressure defense led to some easy offense giving the Badgers a 12 point lead at the end of three quarters.
Holly Ansley led the Badgers with 33 points and filled the stat sheet with 12 rebounds, 6 steals, 2 assists, 1 blocked shots and 0 turnovers. Baylee Blackmore added 19 points and 6 rebounds.
The Lady Badgers host the Lumberjacks of St. Maries this Saturday, Dec 7. Varsity tipoff is at 7 p.m. with JV playing before at 5:30 p.m.
