BONNERS FERRY — The 10th annual Naples Holiday Festival will be in full swing next Saturday, Dec. 14.

The festivities begin at 10 a.m. with a craft fair at the Naples Elementary School which ends at 4 p.m.

The Naples General Store is hosting Santa Claus himself for pictures and conversations about any last-minute gift ideas visitors would like to share with him.

Some of the activities that are scheduled throughout the day are fire truck rides, horse and cart rides, games, free crafting for the children, ornament-making crafts, and various holiday movies will be playing in the fire station.

Elves, snowmen and the Grinch will be on hand to celebrate with guests and Christmas trees will be available for purchase by donation in Naples.

“We will be serving hot dogs,” said South Boundary Fire Chief, Tony Rohrwasser. “The Chariots of Fire parade will begin after Santa lights the Christmas tree in the Naples community.”

The Chariots of Fire parade will begin shortly after 4 p.m.

Brightly-decorated emergency vehicles from South Boundary Fire, North Bench Fire, Paradise Valley Fire and Boundary Ambulance will travel to Paradise Valley first at 2492 Paradise Valley Road at 4:30 p.m. for 30 minutes, then to Bonners Ferry Fire at 7137 First St. from about 5:15 to 5:45 p.m., and finally they will continue to North Bench Fire Department at 64464 Hwy 2 from around 6 to 6:30 p.m., where children will have the opportunity to have pictures taken with Santa.

The parade will stop at each location for 30 minutes for visits with Santa Claus, along with games, cookies, and snacks so that families who are not able to get to the Naples event can celebrate at the department closest to their homes.
