Gloria J. Kjos

Born on Sept. 3, 1944, and died on Jan. 30, 2019

She was born in Yuba City, Calif., and finished high school at Clovis High. She moved to Bonners Ferry, Idaho, around 1975 with her three children — Tonya, Todd, and Terrie — to the family homestead owned by parents Everett and Harold Dean Virden. Kevin and Gloria started dating around 1976 and married on Oct. 11, 1986.

Gloria kept busy doing many different jobs around town. She started working at the Boundary County Restorium in the late 1980s, and worked there until she retired. But her most favorite job was being a wife, a mom, a grandma and a great-grandma

She was always busy with her hands — if she was not crocheting you could find her outside working in her flower garden. Even though most of the flowers would not make it she still kept trying. Kevin and Gloria loved to travel and go on different adventures as their schedule would allow. She loved having family get togethers so she could love on everyone she held dear to her heart. She always tried to make it to her grandkids and great-grandkids sporting events to cheer them on. She was a little spitfire and very stubborn, she knew what she wanted and no one was going to stop her. She will be missed by many.

There will be a Celebration of Life potluck for Gloria at the Badger Den on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019, at 3:30 p.m. If you would like to bring a dish please contact either Terri Smith, 208-610-4326, or Joy Schmitz, 208-610-4535, for more information.

Preceded in death by her father Everett Virden, mother Harold Dean Virden, uncle Arnold Phearson, and daughter Toyna Cokenour.

She is survived by her husband Kevin L. Kjos, brother Ronald (and wife Thelia) Virden, sister Judy (and husband Jim) Musial, her son Todd (and wife Joy) Schmitz, her daughter Terrie (and husband Carl) Smith, grandson Nathan (and wife Crystal) Anton, granddaughter Tina Anton, granddaughter Samantha Schmitz, grandson Mathew Cokenour, grandson Brandon Schmitz, grandson C.J.
