Valley View’s hard-working teachers and students are excited for spring and all of the educational opportunities that come with it. I know spring is right around the corner, or that is what I keep telling myself. Honestly, I think I’m looking forward to it so much because our school has so many wonderful educational field trips planned, we get to utilize our greenhouse once again, and participate in our fourth annual Outdoor School and Field Day events, to state just a few things. So much to look forward to and plan for. With that said, currently our great teachers are challenging students daily and growing individuals academically, socially, and emotionally.

A great example of this is the first graders at VVES will be enjoying a visit from a representative of the Kootenai Wildlife Refuge. She will share animal exhibits, such as furs, hooves, shells, and a stuffed owl just to name a few. Students will learn about winter adaptations, animals native to our area and have the opportunity to make their own animal track molds. We will also all be going on a walking field trip to Pizza Factory. Students will learn the pizza making process, safe food handling, and be able to make and enjoy their own pizzas.

With that said, every month at VVES we celebrate a different character trait and get the opportunity to highlight our wonderful students. This past month we celebrated the character trait of fairness and the following students were highlighted by their teachers. They are: Jacobie Bateman, Rhett Purthill, Braxtyn Nisson, Benson Leach, Wyatt Riek, Willow Graham, Shane Rice, Weston Cartwright-Kissee, Patrick Young, Libby Smith, Gabriella Justus, Manden Barlow, Kale Griffiths, Aspen Graham, Jack Webster, Brian Fisher, Vanessa Taylor, and Mika Waltering. Please congratulate these fair students when you see them.

Please know that we encourage parents and family members to visit and or volunteer often within our four walls. We at VVES believe it is critical to partner with families to educate the powerful minds here at VVES. Please let our secretaries know if you would like more information about volunteering within our school and or district.

VVES is a busy place and we have a lot of great things going on within our school. Please check out our website for the most current information at: http://www.vves-bcsd-id.schoolloop.com/
