BONNERS FERRY — As the 2018 season of sports has come to a close, Bonners Ferry High School’s volleyball team strived to improve its play as it battled in the Intermountain League.

“I would like to thank all the parents, players and the community for all the support that we get from all of you. From the Color Run in June, the car wash in August, the Traeger and paddle board raffle in September, and the most important one, our Volley for the Cure in October,” said Coach Kendra Maas. “With all your support through the fundraisers and supporting us during the games, volleyball team and coaching staff would like to say a huge thank you.”

This year was a bit of a rebuilding year from last few years, according to Maas. The team had a total of 243 kills, 62 blocks and 478 digs.

“I am very honored to always coach these young athletes and enjoy seeing the progress that they make,” said Maas. “At the end of every year the Intermountain league votes on only 12 players that make the Intermountain All League Team. This year Victoria Rae made All League and was recognized at the end of the Championship game in Timberlake on Oct. 18.”

Out of the team stats Victoria had 64 kills, 9 blocks and 56 digs for her 2018 volleyball season.

Keep an eye out on the calendar and bfbadgers.com for updates and scheduling. The 2019 varsity volleyball team will kick off its season hosting St. Maries on Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. at BFHS Gym.
