100 Years Ago
The new board of County Commissioners: Fred. G. Chambers, G.S. Collins, and James A. Welch, took their oaths of office yesterday and today have been taking care of routine business and making plans toward giving the county an administration in full keeping with the pre-election assurances of their supporters.
Miss Ruth Buchanon, teacher of the 4th grade, was elected acting principal in the place of the late Mrs. Crocker.
The Boundary County National Farm Loan Assoc. elected new officers this afternoon. George Irving, Alonzo Cooper, W.W. Branom, Joseph C. Barto, and J.B. Brody were elected for the ensuing term.
Raymond Shively returned home from the construction section of the U.S. Army at Camp Lewis.
E.E. Saunders resumed his duties as pharmacist at the Brody Drug Store after serving in the Tank Corps. Mrs. Saunders joined her husband here and they will move to B.F. as soon as they find a suitable house.

Sara Jane VanderDoes is welcomed as the 1st. baby of the New Year.
B.F. Junior Miss, Debbie Smith, is in Moscow this week to participate in the State Pageant.
B.F. Badgers lost in wrestling to Libby on Friday night, but on Saturday defeated the Wallace team.
Capt. William Witt has been flown from Saigon to Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D.C. where he is undergoing back treatment for a recent injury. A strange point-of-interest occurred during the flight. His nurse was Major Denise Spores, also of B.F.

The Becker family donates $50,000 to new school auditorium. The Becker’s donation will completely elevate the entire scope and feel of the auditorium to a hall of almost stately grandeur.
A $65,000 technology grant has transformed a fourth grade classroom at Naples Elementary School into a sophisticated multi-media computer lab.
Bonners Ferry wrestlers won seven straight weight classes and rolled to the Championship at the fourth Riverside Invitational Jan. 10 with 214 points in the nine-team event.
