BONNERS FERRY — The Badgerette Dance Team has been working hard and providing entertaining halftime shows at the Badger games throughout the school year.

Their competition season has kicked off at Lakeland’s Limelight competition on Jan. 26, where they competed equally against Post Falls, Lakeland, Orofino, and Coeur d’Alene. The ladies brought home second place in Kick and second place in Hip Hop. They also entered the Military category.

“This is our first time ever doing the Military style,” said Coach Lisa Dirks. “It is judged on precision, team unison, and military technique. It is a serious and fierce routine, and it is fun to do something new.”

The next competition is Feb. 2, in Post Falls, followed by the Dance Team Districts on Feb. 23, at the Coeur d’Alene High School.

“Just starting into the seventh month of our long season, I would say our team is doing great,” said Dirks. “I’m very proud to be their coach. We are excited for our next competition.”
