Bonners Ferry High School Trap Team, “Dukes Claybusters”: We had eight shooters today, very good weather. High score today was tied, with Seth Rice, Wade Rice, and Wyatt Hathaway all with 23X25. Melanie Campbell and Colin Fairchild 22X25, Wyatt McDonald had 19X25, Dane Hathaway, and Kamen Nelson 19X25.
Team needs a little more concentration, that’s probably the coach’s fault as I told them the doubles trap was ready to go if they wanted to try those. All said yes. Doubles trap is two clay targets come out at once. Shoot the first one first then go for the angle bird. The whole team tried it and really had fun. Very good experience and they all did very well for the first time shooting doubles.
Bonners Ferry Gun Club moved the traps so as to not have to shut down the outdoor rifle and pistol range; the one trap nearest to the range was there before the rifle and pistol range was and that was too close to the range. We do not have the new walkways done yet and we are shooting off bare ground and paint marks. It all takes time and funding.
All shooters welcome Wednesdays at 10 a.m. The school team and kids shoot Saturdays at 10 a.m. And all shooters on Sunday at 10 a.m.

Bonners Ferry Gun Club: We had 15 shooters in the Annie Oakleys, what fun. There was a father-son duo shooting from Elko, Nev. ... welcome. Father in-law and grandpa, Mr. Ludlow from Troy, Mont., came along.
We had practice rounds and Annies and one round of doubles. What a fun day — and yes, a little meat went across the Montana line again. Good shooting.
Shoot safe and straight. Keep your powder dry.
