Mirror Lake Ladies' Golf Report

Thunderstorms rained out Tuesday night, July 2, but the Wednesday morning, July 3, ladies who braved the gloomy weather predictions were rewarded. It turned out to be a sunny morning for Game of the Day “Three clubs and a putter.”

Winner Maureen Blackmore, with an excellent net 36, was apparently unfazed by the tricky choice of which three clubs would best cover all the unexpected things that can happen on the seemingly tranquil Mirror Lake Golf Course. Low gross winner Jenny Link with 52 was similarly unfazed. Other high achievers were our skilled putters Anne Bonar and Etta Mae Schnuerle who tied for Low Putts with 17. Honorable mention to Ruth Ann Wilson, Beverly Comegys, Linda Hiatt, Blanche Studer, Linda Bogden, and me, who just want to come out and hit the ball despite the weather, but who really would have liked a greater club variety.

Last reminder for “Margaritaville,” coming up in a week on Wednesday, July 17. The list of participants is growing, but there is still time to get in on the action of a very fun day. Come and meet the Mirror Lake ladies and lady golfers from all around this area. Just call Mirror Lake Golf Course (208-267-5314), Karen English (208-699-5996 or ks@mountainpower.com,) or Linda Rupley (208-661-9135 or jlrupley@gmail.com) to sign up.

The Mirror Lake golf ladies meet every Tuesday evening and/or Wednesday morning at the Mirror Lake Golf Club in Bonners Ferry from the beginning of May through the middle of October. Tuesday evenings, arrive at 5 p.m. for tee off at 5:30 p.m., and Wednesday mornings, arrive by 8:30 a.m. for 9 a.m. tee time. Any interested lady golfer is welcome to join in.
