Bonners Ferry High School Trap Team, “Dukes Claybusters”: Dukes Claybusters had a good practice today. The wind was blowing again, but nice weather.
The high score today was Wyatt Hathaway 24X25, Wade Rice shooting another gun donated by Gary Schaffer, got 23X25, Kamen Nelson 21X25, Melanie Campbell 20X25, Wyatt McDonald 20X25, Ryan Carelli 20X25, and Dillon McLeish 16X25. Colin Fairchild couldn’t make it out so he came out Sunday to practice, great.
By the time you readers read this the “Dukes Claybusters” Teams will be shooting their first real tournament. The P.I.T.A. (The Pacific International Trap Association) Grand is in Spokane this year,
The P.I.T.A. members come from California, Oregon, Idaho, Alaska, Nevada, Utah, Washington, and Canada. They all compete to see who are the best individuals in each class; AAA, AA, A, B, C, D in singles and doubles events, and yardage which is the event Handicap, classed as 19 yards back to 27 yards back. Each event is 100 targets.
The “Claybusters” are entered Thursday and Friday. The Team shoot is on Friday. To join the P.I.T.A., 19 and younger are free. The team members are paying their own entry fees and our raffle event and donations are furnishing their shells.
Let’s wish them luck and please support our Raffle at Super 1 Foods on Aug 2 and 3 and at the Boundary County Fair. Prizes are a new 2020 Yamaha ATV, a ton of pellets, a weekend for two at the Kootenai River Inn, a new gas barbecue, a $100 gas card. Donors are Boundary Tractor, North Idaho Logs, Kootenai River Inn, Super 1 Foods, and 3 Mile Exxon. The results of the Team Shooting Scores will appear next week.
