The Gathering Place brings award winning food items and a variety of other wares.

BONNERS FERRY — Having a local place for freshly baked goods such as breads and doughnuts is a treat for many people both on the go, and those looking for that home baked experience.

Other than their famed sandwiches, the Bread Basket Bakery is known for their house baked breads and sweet treats. They earned first place for Best Bakery and Best Sandwiches in the 2019 Best of Boundary County.

“We are pretty proud of receiving the awards,” said Kate Mast, one of the teammates at the Bread Basket Bakery. “We like holding that title.”

For options on sizes of sandwiches, the Bread Basket has the half, the whole, or the full nelson sandwiches.

The full nelson is an entire loaf of their housemade bread crafted into a sandwich with the toppings of the customers choice. The full sandwich is a full ‘normal’ sized sandwich, and the half, being more for those of smaller appetites, with the sandwich of choice being half the normal order.

“We figured it out once,” said Mast. “It was an insane amount of choices with all the options we serve for sandwich configurations.”

With the sandwiches made from their freshly baked bread, they have drawn increased attraction to their baked goods.

“We sell a lot of bread,” said Mast. “Just the variety of them — we have the loaves, French breads, quick breads, doughnuts especially, and our cinnamon rolls are a big hit.”

They also have a variety of take and go items for families or people that want an easy, quick, home cooked meal.

With the plethora of options that they serve, the Bread Basket Bakery continues to bring friendly service to locals and visitors alike.

“A huge thank you to the community,” said Mast. “This would not be possible if it wasn’t for them. A big thank you. We love our customers here, they’re amazing. We are going to keep putting out our sandwiches and orders, and keep up with the same consistent thing.”

Located north of 3 Mile Store at 510752 N. Highway 95, their phone number is 208-267-4100, and their website is www.thegatheringplaces.com.
