Elizabeth Anne Syron

Elizabeth Anne Syron, a devoted wife, an incredible mother, loving sister, daughter and friend to many was called home on June 7, 2019, after her battle with cancer led to healing beyond this world.

Beth was born Oct 20, 1952 in Quantico, Va. She was one of the first female phone installers in southern California. She married Wayne Syron April 19, 1980, in Redondo Beach, Calif. They settled in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, on 20 acres and built their log cabin in 1981.

Her daughter Sara Syron was born in the Philippines on December 9 of 1983 and was adopted by Wayne and Beth on Father’s Day of 1985. In September of 1989 the family moved to American Samoa and adopted their son Michael Syron a few days before Thanksgiving of 1989.

The family then moved back to Idaho in 1991, followed by a move to Mississippi in 1992 when Wayne got a job with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. Later they moved to Lake Arthur, La., in 1995 and remained there until 2014 when Wayne retired. Wayne and Beth then moved back to their first home in Bonners Ferry Idaho. They thoroughly enjoyed gardening, going to the farmers market, and living retired life until her passing.

Through all the years Beth was active in her church life, and her hobbies which were spinning, weaving, tatting and knitting. She enjoyed canning, time with her friends, and talking about life with all. There was never a question that Beth didn’t have the answer to. Everyone she met was changed for better, by having known her and loved by her. She will be missed by so many.

Their song through life was “Devoted” by James Taylor and Carly Simon, which said: Through the years our love will grow, like a river it will flow, guess by now you know that I’m, Devoted to you. Wayne and Beth sang this together the day she passed.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on June 12 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 6850 Denver St. in Bonners Ferry. A meal will follow.
