SCHOOL LEVY: Vote should be in a regular election
Why do we have separate elections for School Levies? Only 1,000+ people voted as compared to the Primary Election, when we had about 2,500 voters, and in the General Election there was about 4,500. Why can’t we have the school levy vote with the General and Primary Elections?
It seems to me that having separate elections may be stacking the vote in favor of those who want the levy and not really getting the vote of the overall population/community. It seems to me that it is a waste of the community’s time and money to have a separate election just for a yes/no question. Having the school levy vote with the General and Primary Elections would have more voters for this major decision that has affected taxes in the past and could affect future taxes.
