BONNERS FERRY — A single vehicle rollover accident occurred on Cow Creek Road on Monday after hitting black ice. Boundary County Sheriff’s Office, Bonners Ferry Police Department, Paradise Valley Fire, and Boundary Ambulance all responded to the scene. There were no injuries.

“We are all anxious to finally see the sun returning after a very snowy February, but that doesn’t mean that you still can’t encounter black ice,” said Boundary County Sheriff Dave Kramer.

It is important during this transition to spring to still expect black ice in the shady areas and as the sun goes down in the evening. These can occur very suddenly on blind corners.

“If your vehicle gives an outside temperature it can be very different than the road temperature,” said Kramer. “Please remember to drive carefully — even if it looks more like spring is coming.”
