Carolyn (Carol) L. McCoy

Carolyn (Carol) L. McCoy, 70, passed away peacefully early Monday morning, March 18, 2019, with her friend and partner, Mike, by her side. Survived by her son, Sean (Stephanie) and his children Eamonn, Maggie, and Andrew; and her daughter, Jenny (Will) and their children Abby and Chase. She was preceded by her loving daughter-in-law, Tanya.

Carol was born in Sandpoint and married Gene McCoy in 1967. After the two of them spent time in Spain (Gene was in the Air Force), Georgia, and Spokane they moved back to Idaho and settled down in Bonners Ferry. There Carol threw her energies into raising their two children. Years later Carol learned to sew draperies from Lovita Linnemeyer which lead to owning the local home design store in town, McCoy’s Home Interiors.

Carol loved helping people in the community with their homes, making new friends, and owning her own business. Her passions were sewing, fishing, dancing, gardening, and her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend.

A service will be held at 3 p.m. today, March 28, at Bonners Ferry Funeral Home, 6485 Harrison St. In lieu of flowers, please donate in memory of Carol to St. Jude’s Hospital, 800-822-6344, or 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or giftfunds.stjude.org/CarolMcCoy. Carol loved the special care and adoration of children at St. Jude’s.
