Restorium Ramblings

I’m rambling again. Last time I forgot some very important news! The Friends of the Restorium, who are always doing wonderful things for us, made it possible for each resident to be given a lovely Christmas gift, as they do every year! We are so grateful.

But this year the Friends gave the Restorium an even more fabulous gift: a bus for our own exclusive use! How wonderful to be able to take drives, to go shopping, to be taken to appointments, and to attend community events in such a comfortable, well-appointed vehicle. To have it at our disposal whenever we need or want is so very special! Both residents and staff are so grateful. We thank the Friends so much. It is also a very necessary gift. The bus has an elevator to board wheelchairs so that the handicapped are able to be transported. What a blessing!

In February on Valentine’s Day we residents were treated to a lovely candlelight steak dinner in the dining room that was decorated in lights and beautiful decorations. We also had nostalgic music from the past which we all remembered with memories of proms and dancing with loved ones. Everyone got a corsage or a boutonniere.

One of the staff’s children escorted the ladies to their tables. He was so gentlemanly! Her daughter and he danced around to the music. They were adorable! We thank the staff for being so thoughtful and working so hard to being joy to us. We also thanks the community for donating meat and goodies as they so often do.

We celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a traditional corned beef and cabbage dinner among the good ole Irish green decorations and look forward to spring. Our staff and our community make life good at the Restorium.
