BONNERS FERRY — There is a new addition to the Bonners Ferry Herald team as the new Advertising Representative, Samantha Coté, has acclimated to the area.

Business owners may have met her, and if not, they may soon as she makes her rounds. Advertising in local publications not only brings attention to one’s business, but helps the local economy by encouraging residents and visitors to shop locally.

“When launching a business, whether one intends to take it national or target its local home community, all businesses require a strong, strategic marketing plan,” said Coté. “My experience has shaped me into being a leader of structure and organization, and helping businesses find resilient solutions to their long-term business goals.”

Originally from northern New England, Maine, Coté has traveled and lived all over the country. Over the last decade, Coté’s father retired from logging and chose to reside in Boundary County.

“I fell in love with Boundary County after many visits during holidays and vacations, and finally decided to move closer to family at the beginning of this year,” said Coté.

With a strong branding background in strategic business development and environmental design, Coté has worked with major national brands like Harley-Davidson, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Barnes & Noble. With her expertise, she brings a fresh outlook to the Bonners Ferry Herald (BFH) and the Hagadone Media Group.

“I thrive on encouraging and supporting a business owner’s creative visions into becoming reality,” said Coté. “With the BFH team, I believe stronger teams are built when guided to turn challenges into new adventures, and there are lots of adventures awaiting for the Herald and its community.”

Coté’s self declared greatest professional accomplishments have been helping businesses to develop stronger presence within the community.

“It is my passion to develop unique strategies of involving this community with its newspaper,” said Coté. “Such as networking with all the local businesses, hotels, restaurants, and shops, while inviting their feedback with the content of this paper.”

While out of the office, Coté can be found outside on adventures.

“My heart is at home outdoors adventuring with my dog, may it be on the water or in the mountains — just as long as we’re out there,” said Coté.

With her next goal being gaining a foothold within the community, Coté is enjoying being closer to her family.

“I love working with this team who is simply having fun, working well, and doing good things for this county,” said Coté. “My energy has always demanded I step out of my comfort zone and follow my passion to work towards the wellness of the community. At my core, I lead with intuition and compassion, and thrive to create an environment of harmony.”

As Coté continues to bring new ideas and a fresh outlook to the community, the Herald staff has welcomed her to the team.
