Busy weekend for law enforcement

BONNERS FERRY — Law enforcement had a busy weekend. With the Moyie Mudbog hosting its annual Mudder’s Day, combined with beautiful, summer-like weather, the roads were filled with people.

Even though the Mudbog is designed to be self contained, with camping, food and drink vendors, and more, some people chose to drive when they should not have, and law enforcement was ready.

Idaho State Police sent multiple units to Boundary County, with some patrol vehicles stopping people before they had a chance to enter the highway, reducing the risk to other drivers on the road.

“We had a huge presence from ISP,” said Boundary County Undersheriff Rich Stephens. “It was very effective having their assistance.”

Boundary County Sheriff’s Dispatch received 56 total calls for service between Friday and Sunday, and 17 arrests that landed in the Boundary County Jail.
