BONNERS FERRY — Cali Lacolucci of Bonners Ferry shot a 100 in the first round of the Idaho State 3A High School tournament followed by 97 in the second round.

“That was good for a 14th place finish individually,” said Coach Ralph Lotspeich. “Her brother, Wyatt Lacolucci, shot rounds of 90-97 to come in 22nd in the 36 hole tournament held at Canyon Springs Golf Course in Twin Falls May 13-14.”

After a couple days of competition, the Badger golfers traveled back home to await the next season on the green.

“It was a great learning experience for them and hopefully it will be a catalyst for the years ahead as Wyatt is a sophomore and Cali a freshman,” said Lotspeich. “If they practice on just a few aspects of their games this summer they should be right near the top in the future.”

With the warm months to continue practicing, the duo should bring their A-game to the Badgers team next season.

Among other Intermountain League golfers, Kellogg’s Kat Rauenhorst placed second at state, while the Wildcat girls placed fourth. Kellogg’s boys team was third, while Timberlake’s girls team was sixth. The Priest River boys were eighth.
