MOYIE SPRINGS — The residents of Moyie Springs came together to vote on the Sewer revenue bond.

The $3.5 million bond will support improvements to the city’s wastewater treatment facility such as screening, sequencing batch reactor, chlorination, and biosolids handling.

If passed, the bond (a type of loan) repayment would be allocated among residents who have a city sewer hookup, officials said in a press release. Principal forgiveness and/or grants could offset some of the $3.5 million in the future as well.

On May 21, there were 92 total votes cast, 16 were absentee votes, eight yes votes, eight no votes for absentees. The bond passed with a total of 68 votes yes, and 24 total no votes.
