Ambulance: Who pays for this service?

Boundary Ambulance Service. The amount of time between injury and response is consistently cited as a reason to maintain the current level of service. Sadly though, there is not enough “billable hours” to pay for that service.

Jeff Lindsey states he has taken a pay cut. He fails to mention he took a position as Bonner County EMS Director. His time is split. The overall plan is to combine both counties under one “umbrella”. North Valley EMS. Read the Bonner Daily Bee for coverage of the issue.

Also not mentioned, is the nearly 1 (one) million-dollar ambulance facility proposed for construction at the Armory here in Bonners Ferry. Just looking for a way to finance it. (you)

Unlike “city folk,” most of the people who live and work here realize a volunteer-based entity has some deficits.

Lacking heart, soul and willingness to serve is not one of those.

That system was dismantled in favor of fully compensated, 24/7 employees.

The ambulance is a private business, contracted by the county for a service.

This stand-by service costs lots of money. It is always nice to want ... paying for it is another matter.

Residents in south Idaho are being forced to sell because of taxes. This is happening, now, in Idaho. Local issues matter. Next time you post to FB, consider pushing send to Kootenai Valley Times, Bonners Ferry Herald. It does make a difference.
