Adopt-a-Kettle Salvation Army volunteers needed Nov. 26 - Dec. 24

| November 14, 2019 12:00 AM

Can your group adopt-a-kettle for one day between Nov. 26 and Dec. 24? Volunteers are needed on Fridays, Saturdays, or any other day, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

They will be ringing at Super 1 Foods, and can ring inside if it is cold. They are looking for six to eight people and are encouraged to work in pairs, for a two hour block of time.

Volunteers are encouraged to sing, dance, dress up, play an instrument, or whatever they would like to do, as long as they are having fun.

All equipment is located at the store and the volunteers are not responsible for counting the donations. All donations stay here in the community and are used to assist individuals and families with rent, utilities, fuel, and prescriptions in Bonner Ferry through the local Community Action Partnership office.

This year, 10 youth from Bonners Ferry attended a week-long summer camp at Salvation Army Camp Gifford in Deer Park, Wash. The cost to the low-income families was only $25. The remaining cost of $350 was covered by The Salvation Army. The local public schools were given five dozen backpacks to families in need and six dozen lap blankets were also provided for those in need.
