Wrestling club ends its fall season

| November 28, 2019 12:00 AM

The Bonners Ferry Wrestling Club’s fall season has come to an end. There were five North Idaho League Tournaments and (for those who chose to) the Final Tour of America USA Wrestling Bigfoot Tournament held at the Spokane Convention Center this last Saturday.

Seventy-three kids ranging between four years old and middle schoolers have been practicing at least two nights a week (some coming four nights a week).

It goes without saying that is only possible because of the incredible adult volunteers who devote countless amount of hours coaching.

This year we have many second-generation wrestling dads who now have their own kids in the sport and helped to mentor some of the less-experienced parents. Many high school wrestlers joined the practices, willing to give back to the younger kids what has been given to them. Seeing the team improve at each tournament was proof of all of the hard work and dedication given by all of the families involved.

If anyone has a child interested in wrestling, they are encouraged to come join us next time. The Facebook Page: “Bonners Ferry Wrestling Club” is a great way to stay connected to upcoming opportunities.
