Free breakfast on Saturday at South Boundary Fire
Come on down to the South Boundary Fire Station #1 in Naples this Saturday for a free breakfast. From 7-11 a.m., the Firefighters will be cooking pancakes, sausage, ham, and eggs for free to the public. This is an opportunity to come and meet your neighbors and Fire Department. We will also have our Fire Station bounce house out for the kids.
Why the free event? This is a chance for us to show the public what we are trying to do in Naples between the Naples School and the Fire Station.
The South Boundary Firefighters Association is a 501C3 non-profit organization which is separate from the Fire District. We raise money to support the community. We have a yearly $500 scholarship available to residents of the District for schooling. Every year in December we sell donated trees (this coming year donated by “Young Living”) by donation. This raises money for the “Naples Food Cupboard”. We have also donated to people in need of help and of course, to the Fire District.
The Boundary County School District has given the Fire District the ability to use the land between the Station and the School to expand the services provided to the community. The association is trying to raise funds to put a building up to house the Naples Food Cupboard (Food Bank) on a more permanent basis and to meet growth. This new building will have better access for loading and unloading of supplies. We have also factored in a storage area for the American Red Cross who currently have supplies in the old church building. This building will also have space for overflow for the BOCO Backpack program.
This all ties in with the program the Fire District is currently working on with the Boundary Ambulance Service to try to staff the station with Fire and EMS personnel and to possibly create a central helicopter landing zone for the mill, the school, the community, and highway accidents. The whole proposed project is being referred to as the Naples Community Park.
We invite you to come down, have a free breakfast, check out the project and give us your input and donation if you wish. We are excited to show you our artist’s rendering of the finished project and the construct in progress.
We also would like to thank Alta Forest Products for their very generous donations of support we have received already. If all goes as planned we hope to have everything operational by the beginning of 2020. Hope to see you there.
