Refuse to be a Victim Class

| October 3, 2019 1:00 AM

The Boundary County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting the first “Refuse To Be A Victim” class on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 8 a.m. until noon. There is no cost for the training, but the class size is limited to 20 people. The training will be held in the classroom at the old Armory building located across from the Middle school.

REFUSE TO BE A VICTIM is a personal safety program that teaches strategies you can use to avoid situations where self-defense is required. This course focuses on proactive courses of action, rather than reactive. Criminals prefer easy targets. By making yourself more difficult to prey upon, you lessen your risk of criminal attack.

The course will touch on the following, the psychology of criminal predators, mental preparedness, physical security, home security, automobile security, out of town travel security, technological security, personal protection devices and much more. Sheriff’s Level III Reserve Officers Paula DesBien and Andrea Kramer are both certified instructors in this course and will make the course informative and fun. Because the class size is limited to 20 people you will need to contact Paula DesBien to register for the course. She can be contacted at paula.desbiens@yahoo.com.
