Bonners Ferry High School Trap Team, “Dukes Claybusters” practice: We had 30 miles per hour winds two Saturdays ago. I called off practice due to the strong winds and cold weather. The school trapshooting team has a tournament at Troy-Deary Trap Club on Oct. 19, so we need to practice.

Saturday, Oct. 5

We had nine shooters, great turnout. Top shooter was Wyatt McDonald who only missed two out of 10 pair of doubles, 20 birds, 18X20 total. The team will be shooting 50 singles, 50 handicap, and 50 doubles for the best individual and team score. Scores on 16 yard singles last Saturday were Kamen N. 23X25, Wyatt H. 23X25, Ryan C. 22X25, Wade R. 22X25, Colin F. 19X25, Wyatt M. 21X25, Melanie C. 18X25, Cassidy U. 17X25, and a new shooter Colton Turner 13X25.

The tournament is for school teams and school shooters ONLY. Expecting lots of competition. Shooting starts at 9:30 a.m. Sign up starts at 8 a.m. Anyone that needs a ride let me know or Ron and Kristie Campbell. We need to leave at 6 a.m., take a good three hours drive time. Troy-Deary has their own RV park. If you are a little late, not to worry still can shoot, but should be on time if you can. Hope we have good weather, if not I am confident the team will do well.

Bonners Ferry Gun Club: Attendance was small as Noxon, Mont., had a shoot the same day. We had seven shooters. Three practice rounds and four Annie Oakleys.

All you duck and goose hunters come on out and get your eyes and swing back with those shotguns you’ve had put away for a year, shoot a few moving clay targets. They don’t taste as good as duck or goose but it’s sure fun.

Shoot Safely and keep your powder dry.
