Drug take back event is Saturday
On Saturday, Oct. 26, the Boundary County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with other local law enforcement agencies and the Drug Enforcement Agency will host the annual DEA Drug Take Back event at the local Super 1 Foods front entrance between 10 a.m. and noon.
All prescription drugs, including controlled and non-controlled prescription drugs and liquids will be accepted. The program is anonymous and no questions will be asked or identifying information required.
Participants may dispose of medication in its original container or by removing the medication from its container and disposing of it directly into a disposal box provided at the site. If an original container is submitted, it is recommended that any identifying information first be removed or marked out using a permanent marker. Liquids such as cough syrups should remain sealed in their original containers with the cap tightly sealed to prevent leakage.
Intravenous solutions, injectables, syringes, chemotherapy medications, and medical waste WILL NOT be accepted.
