Fire Service Honor Guard hosts annual Chili Feed Competition
On Saturday, Nov. 2, the Boundary County Fire Rescue Honor Guard is hosting its annual Chili Feed Competition to raise funds for its work to honor those who have sacrificially served our community in the emergency services. The competition is open to any person or business who wants to contribute chili for our neighbors to sample!
The Honor Guard is trying to raise funds for a ceremonial brass bell which is used in memorial ceremonies; for additional flags and accessories, and for additional uniforms for a new auxiliary Color Guard being formed which can be utilized at public events of all kinds wherever the flag is to be honored.
Please come to the downtown fire station in Bonners Ferry on Nov. 2 from 5-8 p.m. to enjoy some chili, take part in the raffle for some fine offerings from community businesses and individuals, try for the 50/50 drawing, and have a great time showing your support for fire and other emergency services in Boundary County.
For those wanting to enter their chili, there is no preregistration required. Bring chili and show up a half an hour early to set up.
Tickets are $5 for adults and $2 for kids 12 and under who plan to eat! First ticket includes a raffle ticket, and more are available at the event. Thank you!
