Saturday Oct. 12

Bonners Ferry High School Trap Team, “Dukes Claybusters”: We had eight shooters practice shooting with top scores; Wyatt Hathaway 25X25, Kamen Nelson 24X25, Colin Fairchild 20X25, Wyatt McDonald 18X25, Cassidy Underwood 18X25, Dillon McKleish 17X25, Wade Rice 25X25, and Seth Rice 23X25.

Good turnout for practice for our upcoming competition shoot at Troy-Deary Gun Club next Saturday, Oct. 19.

Saturday Oct. 19

WOW!!!! What lousy weather to go shooting in ... pouring rain and 40 degrees; a few snowflakes, too, at Troy-Deary Gun Club. What a group of tough school shooters.

I am very proud of all eight of the “Duke” Claybuster Trap Team members that competed today and also all eight parents that drove their kids down to support the team. It was a three hour drive and snowing on the way home. Thank you all.

Talk about proud, there were 13 trophies and the Claybusters came home with 10 of them. The scores were as follows:

Sub Juniors

16 yards Handicap Doubles

Colin Fairchild 42X50 43X50 45X50

Kamen Nelson 45X50 41X50 37X50

Dillon McKleish 40X50 40X50 36X50

Wyatt McDonald 39X50 39X50 30X50

Cassidy Underhill 35X50 no shoot 17X50

Very proud of Cassidy as she shot Doubles first time using the coach’s gun, way too heavy for her and she had never shot it before.

Juniors

16 yards Handicap Doubles

Wade Rice 48X50 48X50 39X50

Seth Rice 47X50 45X50 40X50

Melanie Campbell 32X50 37X50 35X50

Trophies

Colin: Second. 16 yards, 1st Handicap, 1st Doubles, High overall Sub Junior.

Kamen: 1st 16 yards, 2nd Doubles Sub. Junior

Seth: 2nd Doubles Junior

Wade: 1st 16 yards, 1st Handicap, 2nd High over all Juniors.

We would very much like to thank Renee and Ed Nelson for their donation in Bob Manleys memory, and an anonymous donor to the “Duke’s Claybusters” School Shooting Fund.

Sunday, Oct. 20

Bonners Ferry Gun Club: We only had nine shooters today, two new shooters from Montana. Shooting practice rounds and Annie Oakleys, with a different winner in each one. Attendance is down as hunting season is on.

I wish you all good luck and safe hunting. When the freezer is full come on back out and shoot some clays.

Thanks again Claybusters for showing how tough you are in competition in good or bad weather, great sportsmanship and support of one another. Thanks again to the parents for all your support too. We certainly showed them where Bonners Ferry is.

Shoot safe and straight.

A very proud coach,

Lonny Jelinek
