Historic bed and breakfast hosts open house
BONNERS FERRY — The Northside School Bed and Breakfast celebrated a ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 19, hosted by Bonners Ferry Chamber of Commerce President Jennifer Van Etten.
Since purchasing the property, Frank and Jerri Duarte, their daughter, Corina, and her husband, Eric Johnson, have been diligently working toward improving the rooms, amenities and landscape.
The historic old school turned B&B is open and ready for customers. All of the rooms will be themed to reflect the school, such as the music room, the chemistry room, the paleontology room, to name a few.
The family offers breakfast to guests in a beautiful dining room that used to be the school’s first and third grade classrooms.
For guests who may require ADA accommodations, there is an elevator and an ADA room to meet this need.
For now, the B&B offers guests a breakfast with their hotel stay, though the owners have plans to offer specials in the near future. On Nov. 8, a turkey dinner will be served as part of a special for guests staying during that time, and in December, the special will include a prime rib dinner with the hotel stay.
