CAP presents local family with $500 gift card
BONNERS FERRY — Having a pantry stocked with food is a wonderful way to begin the holiday season, and that is exactly what Flora Wolf will have, thanks to Community Action Partnership (CAP) and their sponsors.
On Oct. 28, CAP Community Engagement Liaison Liz Bigsby met with Wolf at her almost-completed house provided by Fuller Center for Housing, and presented her with a $500 gift card to Super 1 Foods.
Bigsby had the idea that she wanted to do something for Wolf and her daughters and set to work to make it happen.
“We have some sponsors that help out when we are in a pinch and we put out the word that we need help,” said Bigsby. “I submitted a request for a little additional funding so Community Action supplied some of the funding to get a $500 gift card from Super 1.
“I’ve known them for a long time and I was so happy to hear that they got this,” Bigsby said about the house. “I was updated all the way through and I thought that was so neat, and I wanted to do something special to say congrats and get them all situated.”
Wolf will be able to move into her new house soon with her children, and thanks to the gift card, her cupboards will be filled with food when she does.
“This is amazing and unexpected and just awesome,” said Wolf.
